5 Tips to Optimize Your Landing Pages for Greater Conversions

As an online marketer, it is important to seek ways to improve your landing page so as to have a higher conversion rate. It will be a waste of time and effort working hard to get visitors to your websites only for them to leave resulting in poor conversion.

Landing Page

The best way to constantly improve your landing page is by testing different conversion methods, strategies and techniques so as to have an effective and optimized landing page for greater conversion. This article takes a look at 5 tips that you could use to optimize your landing page for higher conversions.

Try Out Different Colors

Unlike standard web page optimization for SEO, the color of your landing page plays an important role in improving conversions of landing pages as it sets out the tone of your website. Even though we would all like the colors of our landing pages to match our logo, site design or business brand color, conversion rate is paramount and should override any color design.

The best way to determine the best color for your site which improves the conversion rate is by testing different colors on your sites and analyzing the results in terms of bounce rate, session time and conversion rate.

Time Sensitive Call to Action

It is important that every landing page to have a call to action that converts site visitors. The call to action must be one which gets the visitor to do the said actions. The best call to action must;

  • Incorporate a sense of urgency-even though this may look like a child's tactic, having a sense of urgency works e.g. 'only a few products remaining'
  • It should give visitors confidence to take action while reducing any risks on their part e.g. 'you'll definitely like it' 'try out our free sample'
  • Tells visitors exactly what to do for simple usability e.g. 'click here' 'sign up today'
  • Encourages visitors to respond right away and not giving them the option of waiting and thinking about it 'sign up now' 'subscribe immediately to'

These landing page optimization tips for call to action buttons can be complete game-changers for ecommerce PPC and other related online store applications.

Identify Where People Are Clicking and Why

The best way to optimize your landing page for greater conversion is by first identifying where people are clicking and why. As an online marketer, it is important not to put too much focus on the look and feel of your landing page but rather finding best ways of converting your visitors and finding leads.

The best way to identify where people are clicking is to set up heat map tracking. Use the information from the heat map to identify visitor behavior and see where they are clicking and why. You can prioritize that area by removing any distractions and having a call to action in that area.

Additionally, you can remove distractions and complications like link navigation bar, outbound links and clickable logos from the landing page to increase conversion.

Provide Motivation in the Call to Action

With many spam emails today, no one would want to give their email address only for their inboxes to be filled with spam mail. To get more visitors to sign up, it is important to motivate them. When done well pop ups are the best motivation tool to get more leads.

Pop ups are an effective lead generation tool but when misused or not properly placed, can lead to visitor frustration and even make some of them leave the site. It is important to identify the best way to employ use of pop ups.

Split Test Every Idea You Have

The best way to optimize your landing pages and get better conversion is by split testing every idea you have so as to only implement strategies that will improve conversion rates. Split testing involves present two sets of ideas to users and identifying one which users are identifying with. Many online marketers simply create a landing page and design the page without having any input from users. Split testing will ensure your landing page is fully optimized and thus have a great conversion

The Adaptive Art Of Ecommerce SEO

Ecommerce SEO ArtA number of SEO strategies used by some ecommerce sites have, with time, become less effective and ultimately obsolete. This is especially in ecommerce SEO markets of competing with big retail websites which are already established. Consequently, ecommerce sites need to adjust the traditional ecommerce SEO strategies to make them more relevant and competitive.

Adopting Social Media, Aggressively

One of the most effective ways of ecommerce sites achieving SEO success is adopting strategies that are more socially oriented. This means that while formulating their strategies, the sites should ensure that they provide content driven strategies. The importance of this is that mare traditional SEO strategies are not enough to make the sites remain competitive.

Almost every ecommerce site uses these traditional strategies which do not provide new ways of achieving success. These traditional SEO strategies are also mastered by many ecommerce sites and therefore the audience does not get captivating content. A site that that wishes to standout and be more successful in ecommerce SEO should get creative with search marketing strategies through integrated social media and content marketing.

Creating Reader-Focused Content, Regularly

The modern SEO require the ecommerce sites to provide content that can both engage and inform the audience. some of the ways of ensuring the content provided is audience targeted is using things such as case studies, product showcase videos and in depth review articles amongst others. This result to the content being socially favored which ultimately influences an ecommerce site’s SEO efficiency and overall success.

Such content provides the audience with more information which is easier to understand. As a result, the people getting this content get to make informed decisions through knowing exactly what they are paying for. Furthermore, the audiences enjoy getting the captivating content especially while it is presented in the right way.

Providing Timely Customer Support, Impeccably

Through using valuable and audience targeted content, ecommerce sites also makes the audience get more confidence on the various products and services from the particular site. This is because the audience sees that the site has the relevant know how.

As a result, the people who get this content feel the need to purchase from a site that clearly understands about the different products and services. The customers also feel that they can get satisfactory answers regarding the products being marketed. This results to the SEO efforts of any ecommerce site being better.

Battling Big Box Retailers, Fearlessly

Another important reason why ecommerce sites should adjust their SEO strategies to be more socially oriented is that the big box retailer websites are mostly already established. This means that using the traditional strategies will not make the ecommerce site noticed before the already established sites. Through deviating from the traditional strategies, the ecommerce sites are able to attract more attention and create improved trust. Eventually, the ecommerce sites are able to penetrate and eventually catch up with the bigger websites.

An adjustment to SEO strategies for an ecommerce site from the traditional strategies to crafting valuable and audience targeted content also provides any ecommerce site with the opportunity to be consistent. This is because a site that always provides such content is able to capture the audience attention and therefore always come back to look for the content.

This means that the audience is less likely to go else where to look for this content and therefore become loyal customers. The customers are also likely to tell others about the ecommerce site providing reliable content. Therefore, improved ecommerce SEO success can be achieved through using audience targeted content and other SEO strategies.

Website Optimization: The Technical Side of SEO

SEO is divided into off-site SEO (i.e. link building, social media, etc.) as well as on-site SEO (content development, technical SEO, etc.). On-site refers to SEO techniques that are visible without looking at the source code of the website. Technical SEO refers to the techniques that are only recognizable after seeing the source code of the website.

Website Optimization SEO

Examples of technical SEO strategies are focal to site load speed, crawler access, JavaScript and IP detection or redirection, and fluid crawling and indexing. These technical SEO components center on a practice known as website optimization, which improves technical site performance, SEO, and usability. Read on for more technical website optimization SEO techniques and their expected effects.

Faster load speeds

There are a number of technical SEO techniques that can be conducted to make the website load faster. A website with a high site speed is able to rank higher in the search engine results. Moreover, it is easier to use and allows for more customer conversions.

To increase site speed, the following activities are conducted in the website. One of them is to have a high performance server hosting your website. A super fast server allows the search engine spiders to crawl through your pages faster. As such, it ranks higher in the search results.

The pages in your website should also be designed so that they load quickly. There are design formats that allow websites to load very fast. These can be incorporated in the technical SEO initiative for your website.

Enhanced usability

Technical SEO activities can be used to ensure that the Flash content in a website promotes easy usability of the website. People who visit the website should know all about your website and your products and services in the landing page.

As such, you can implement some Flash elements in this page. The attractive elements are bound to keep visitors interested and promote the chances of converting them. When optimizing Flash elements in your website, be careful not to make them too many. This is because too much Flash in a website will lead to some search engines struggling to find content in your website.

Conversion rate optimization (CRO)

You can implement some technical SEO strategies for conversion rate optimization (CRO) in your website. One of the ways to do this is to appeal to the emotions in the people who visit your websites.

You can set your website code such that it recognizes the exact location of the visitor and shows them advertisements with products that solve problems they can relate to. By communicating to the visitor that you are concerned about them, you are likely to convert them into a customer.

This will help search engines to find these internal pages and improve site rankings.

SEO is series of strategies and techniques that are conducted on (and off) a website to increase Google search engine rankings. If a website increases its ranking such that is is visible in the first page of results, then more people will visit it, it will become more popular and the company that owns the website can experience an increase in brand awareness and revenue.

How to Conduct an SEO Backlink Audit

Ecommerce SEO Site Audit SEO has now become one of the most important marketing channels in generating quality website traffic and cultivating a strong online presence. Most forms of SEO involve a number of technical details, all of which are important to consider if you want to build a strong SEO-friendly website.

One of these technical details is backlinks (or inbound links, external links, or just plain "links.") Backlinking is one of the most important aspects of SEO and determining high ranking websites. From a technical SEO perspective, a backlink strategy entails a process of analyzing links that are directed to a website.

The Importance of Backlinks for SEO

Alternatively, it is the owner or the analyst keeping track of how many redirections from other sources divert to his or her own webpage. In terms of importance, this is a key indicator of the particular website's popularity through external or indirect sources.

This is because the number of quality backlinks leading to your website is a factor that influences the ranking of the website in related search results. In the end results, backlinking is an ingredient to the popularity of the webpage.

Conducting an SEO Backlink Audit

An SEO backlink audit can be viewed as the “house cleaning” of your backlinks. It is a review of your current situation and an opportunity to move forward with a better plan. This link analysis, when done right, brings about valuable information regarding the performance of your website.

You may find it useful to conduct a backlink audit if: you want to identify your competitive edge as well as your faults, you want to improve your backlink building strategy, you want to understand your competitions' strategies, and more. In these cases, you will find that analyzing the current backlink situation may be of importance.

Why? For starters, this analysis is critically important as a general assessment tool. In any project, assessment is a key tool. It allows the management to zero in on potential opportunities and close up on their shortcomings.

Pinpointing Poor Quality Backlinks

It is an improvement strategy that requires a thorough analysis of the current situation in order to plan a way forward. A website that undergoes backlink auditing is likely to avoid any potential damage control which may result in penalties. This auditing process diverts this potential mishap by locating and exposing low quality and inappropriate links that may attracts those penalties. After locating them, the process of elimination follows, which keeps the website safe from penalties that may decrease the website's popularity in ranking.

Additionally, the audit gives important insight regarding where the website is doing good. For instance, which websites are linking to yours? Finding out such information is key in adopting an appropriate and strategic SEO to attract more visitors both directly and indirectly. This also allows you to try different tactics, preferably SEO, to improve your website's ranking.

At the end of the auditing process, your website has undergone a health check that is imperative to its survival. Ridding of unwanted links that may potentially bring down the website and improving on the faults is one way to ensure that you are running a well functioning website. Alternatively, identifying strong and quality backlinks gives insight into what to do better in order to improve ranking and increase traffic to the site.

4 Cornerstones to Recruiting a Company for SEO Services

What do the most proficient and highly-sought SEO firms have in common? What are the traits should businesses look for before recruiting an SEO company?

Hiring SEO Company Services

While the process of selecting the right SEO company can be daunting (especially if you are swamped by offers from countless SEO service providers,) it does not have to be overwhelming. Here are 4 eye-opening tips that will pave the way in recruiting the right company for SEO services.

1. Evaluate Your Organization's SEO Needs

Most SEO companies offer multiple services ranging from SEO audits, link building, and retargeting, to reputation management and social bookmarking. By initially determining what your firm needs, you can tailor your search to specific entities that offer the given services.

Some SEO firms may not offer all the services you need. Your organizational goals can help in clarifying the pending need for an SEO service. For instance, if you are a start-up that simply needs to increase traffic to your website, then you can have a clear checklist to start out with in your search for a firm.

By setting a clear goal, you can narrow your engagement with prospective SEO firms to specific objectives that should form the basis of your interactions. Essentially, goals need to be measurable as this helps to eliminate grey areas and determine the level of success after outsourcing your services.

2. Screen Prospective SEO Companies Via Multiple Consultations

As a pre-selection criterion, have a sit down with various firms offering SEO services. Businesses usually conduct applicant assessments to determine their suitability for a given role. In the same vein, treat your consultation as an attempt at determining a firm’s credentials and suitability.

Generally, SEO firms are likely offer you a no-obligation consultation and warm up to you, as they perceive this as an opportunity to get some leads. This opportunity will also be ideal for you in determining whether the firm’s staffers are likeable, and as such, whether you will have a good time working with them.

Thereafter, the SEO company will make you an offer indicating their pricing for the services you desire. Consider doing this with other firms to get a better feel of the pricing and other comparative nuances. You can then narrow down to the most suitable entity to outsource your firm’s SEO needs.

Remember to keep these consultations discreet, but also ask the right questions to get what you need. You do not want all the firms you are consulting to catch wind of your maneuvering, as this may not enhance competitiveness among them.

3. Make Use of Referrals

Satisfied customers often make the best marketers. The best way for an SEO firm to stand out is to have credible references-similar entities that they have worked with and the success such firms have attained in the process.

Such customers can vouch for the SEO firm by depicting the firm’s credibility and success. If an SEO firm does not have a list of successful clients it has worked with, then you need to shop elsewhere. How else would you know that the SEO firm has been successful in the past when it does not have tangible evidence?

Although it may not be a general rule, past performance of an SEO firm can be a good indicator that the firm will successfully execute your job.

4. Assess The SEO Company's Experience

The key to hiring the right SEO company is in getting all the relevant information regarding the firm. This may entail its background, success and expertise. You need to listen to an SEO firm’s story – its founding, its client experiences, bottlenecks in doing its job, and its growth over time.

By assessing these innate details, you can make a more grounded decision about whether to hire such a firm. Often, how a firm has handled jobs in the past and its experience can be a precursor of what you can expect when your hire such an organization.

Hiring the right SEO service provider requires meticulous care on the part of the hiring firm. By evaluating your needs, screening SEOs, making use of referrals, and assessing the SEO firm’s expertise, you can get a better feel of what to expect, minimize making any mistakes and thereby make the right recruiting decision.

5 Pillars of Successful Ecommerce SEO Programs

Ecommerce SEO PillarsTo ensure your business succeeds when investing in an ecommerce SEO campaign, it is important to desist from the temptation of going for 'black box' or quick fix methods to gain fast traction in the online market space.

In the SEO space (especially ecommerce SEO) it is important to employ a long-term and sustainable approach to the campaign within a well thought out and integrated marketing strategy. Here are the 5 pillars of successful ecommerce SEO programs, which include but are not limited to the following:

Brand Building and Niche Carving

Just like in the outside world, a brand name in the online market space is invaluable. First and foremost, it is important to cut a niche or specialized market for your business before even embarking on an SEO campaign.

Know your market, know what they want and come up with effective and efficient ways of getting them what they want. Once this has been done, build a brand that’s anchored on high quality, good content, reliability and timeliness. Always keep in mind that building a brand is usually the easiest part, maintaining the brand name is by far the most difficult aspect of any SEO strategy.

Website (Technical) SEO

Search engines such as Google need highly accessible sites which it can index and crawl. Technical SEO broadly does involve dealing with a wide array of issues such as pagination and indexation, page load and site speed times, keyword research, structured data rich snippets such as mark-up and micro data, meta tags, URL structure as well as site management are some of the technical aspects that require constant attention.

Using Google Webmaster Tools or dashboard management for technical SEO comes in quite handy in this regard. Use Google PageSpeed to measure both inner and home page speed or Yahoo’s YSlow Plug-in. It is also advisable to use Schema to structure your content.

Content Marketing and Outreach

One of the most powerful pillars of SEO is content. Creating and promoting high quality content that aligns with your service or product offering is bound to help you increase overall sales figures. It is important to think of ways of offering complementary content both on and off site.

For an ecommerce store's SEO program, it is advisable to consider running various forms of content; it should not only be in form of text. Good content can be consumed as podcast (audio), webinars, guest blog posts, info graphics, competitions, white papers, email newsletters, mobile apps etc. it is important to get a good content marketing strategy that supports your brand. Promoting your high quality content does encourage bloggers, users and publishers to link to your site and discuss your content.

Provide Unmatched User Experience

For any SEO campaign to succeed, it is important to create and develop an intuitive and accessible website with your target market and other users in mind. Make a site that’s easy on the eye, easy to navigate and access or retrieve content. For an ecommerce site, make sure there is a secure and easy mode of payment as well.

Come up with ways to make the average user spend more time on your site and reduce the bounce rates. These are important engagement indicators which you need to take into consideration. Always keep in mind that user experience is an on-going, never ending process. Come up with a responsive web design and have image and video driven content for a good start.

Social Media

As one commentator aptly put it, "Content is fire, social media is the gasoline" people are currently spending lots of hours on social media, the platform chosen notwithstanding. Facebook, Pinterest, Vine and Twitter are some of the leading platforms where people are constantly discovering and engaging with brands.

Any SEO campaign that doesn’t include a strong social media pillar is bound to fail in meeting its target. Any company that’s not already using Google Authorship is losing a great deal. Authorship does assist Google in assigning credibility to a site’s content, resulting in higher search engine results. Make sure you give users great content which they would want to share and while at that, ensure you give them tools such as social media buttons which make it easier for them to share this content.

The Evolution of Logistics in a B2C Ecommerce Marketplace

With the emergence of more and more ecommerce sites, the logistics of how businesses work and distribute goods has greatly changed in recent years. Although in the past, the physical storefront was an important factor to generate sales, today this is not the case.

Before, businesses had to be situated in the prime location. They needed a storefront in a location where plenty of shoppers would visit, where there was plenty of traffic, and where they had steady business. With ecommerce, and logistics today, businesses still need a warehouse or distribution center to manage their inventory and supply chain, but an actual storefront to work with customers is all digital

New Changes in Ecommerce & Logisitics

Ecommerce Logistics WarehouseWith the emergence of B2C ecommerce, the relationship between customer and e-retailer has greatly changed. For starters, there are new actors in the play. New strictly "online" ecommerce businesses have emerged. But, businesses which already have a storefront are also making their way onto the world of online selling and retail.

This increase in competition is good for the consumer (lower prices), and retailer, as it doesn't limit where they can sell based on location alone. Location is also different. Today, retailers can choose distribution centers which are larger, and they can be in smaller regions, to drive down cost of operation. With online sales, they no longer are forced to stick to one geographic region.

Purchases are directly linked to customers. In fact, they are directly linked to the distribution center in many cases. Customers can order online, and their order is going directly to the distribution center in many cases. This cuts out the middle man, and gives the customer more control.

Tracking is also a major part of the distribution today. Customers want to know where their order is and when it will arrive. This forces distribution centers to provide some form of tracking to the customer, with each order placed. In essence, tracking and reporting has become vital in today's more fluid logistics supply chains for ecommerce stores.

Challenges with Supply Chain Management

Logistics Warehousing & DistributionWith ecommerce being more prevalent today, physical distribution centers are changing in many ways. Economies of scale (large malls or shopping centers) and the conventional supply chain are being challenged more than ever in the past. Local warehouses and distribution centers are relied upon, in major metro areas today, in order for deliveries to be made on a timely basis for customers. This, in turn, has shaped the role of many of the top logistics management companies throughout the world.

Further, the consumer is no longer maintaining the load or paying the costs for moving goods from store to home today; with ecommerce, businesses are bearing this load, so as to keep customers happy and to outdo their competition. In urban areas, growing logistics demands of ecommerce businesses, are more and more difficult to keep track with, due to the many orders which are being made by customers online on a daily basis.

Although the traditional storefront retail center will never go away, more and more ecommerce sites are popping up, changing the way in which business run. With changes in logistics, supply chain management, and how orders are placed, businesses have to make the right changes, if they hope to compete in today's digital marketplace.
